Branch 150 History

The first organizational meeting was July 13, 1988 and was held at Fall Creek Landing in Roseville. I imagine that the men on the first organizational chart were the ones that initiated the branch. Fall Creek Landing became the Warehouse Landing and meetings held there July and Aug 1988. This restaurant closed in Aug 88. Second meeting place, Sept, Oct and Nov 1988 was at LW Calders. Calders wasn’t big enough and we then moved to Michelmores in Dec. Probationary status was issued to 150 on July 22, 1988. Dec 21, 1988, Ruel Smith, bulletin editor, passed out the first monthly bulletin. 13 men were present plus Area Gov Sir John Lambdin and past gov Sir Earl Chinnock. First BS was Geo. Erkson and first LS was Jim Eastlund. Wed July 12, 1989 150 celebrated their first anniversary at Michelmores. The branch now had about 75 members. July 21, 1989 150 requested an extension on probationary status as we had not reached the required 100 members for a chapter. Dec 20, 1990 was Charter Day and the presentation was at the McClellan AFB Officers Club. 150 members used to be able to make up absences by attending other branch meetings.

Feb 16, 1990 Elliott Martin Sanders was the first 150 member to pass away.

Ladies Day Luncheon was in February.

Mar 2002 was first meeting at Rancho Cordova Elks Lodge. Jim Rae was responsible for all of the arrangements.
